Injectable treatments contain special ingredients and formulations that may be introduced through fine needles to areas with signs of aging and sun/environmental damage. Dermal fillers differ from Botox^® and other neuromodulators that relax the muscles responsible for expression lines. These lines arise and become particularly pronounced as skin loses its natural elasticity over time.

Instead of relaxing the muscles to soften lines, dermal fillers replace lost volume due to the breakdown of collagen, elastin, fat, hyaluronic acid, and other beneficial substances. True to their name, fillers “fill in” depressions, from hollowed-out cheeks to wrinkles. When substances like HA are injected into trouble areas, the filler lifts, adds volume, and plumps up scars, folds, and more to smooth the skin.

We have many options! HA-based options are among the most popular. They are considered very safe and reliable, as the HA “mimics” the substance produced naturally by our bodies. HA is a natural lubricant and moisturizer that has a plumping effect on the skin. The introduction of HA to the skin boosts its suppleness and overall quality.

We offer a long-lasting solution with Sculptra^®. This product is made from poly-L-lactic acid, which is highly compatible with body tissues and known for its durability because it stimulates collagen production. As the collagen is replenished, the results become visible gradually. By promoting these changes deep within the skin, Sculptra^® provides results that generally last longer than those achieved with HA-based fillers.

Fillers vary not only in the active ingredients, but also in their “indications” or what they have been approved to treat. Different products target different skin concerns or areas.
